Our Mission

We are a centre for theological education, inquiry and research that has been established by the Catholic Bishop of Auckland. As such, we aim to play a vital part in the Church's work in Auckland.

The Institute is committed to honouring the Treaty of Waitangi as a covenant, and to a bicultural society and Church. It follows that as a bicultural institution, our courses reflect both Maori and Pakeha perspectives.

Our aims:
  • to be a resource for the Church in all areas of adult education
  • to offer a unique and essential resource in this area to the parish communities and schools of the diocese

We are committed to:

  • using principles of adult education
